Myrtle L. Grinols

WESTFIELD — Myrtle L. Grinols, age 98, formerly of Beckman Avenue, Westfield died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at Absolut Care of Westfield, following a brief illness. Grinols was born on Jan. 11, 1913 in Westfield, N.Y., the daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude (Murphy) Grinols. She enjoyed gardening and playing Golf and had participated in several Golf leagues at Point Chautauqua Golf Course in her younger years. She retired from Welch Foods, Westfield, N.Y., as an office worker in 1978 after 41 years of employment there. Myrtle was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield and was the oldest and longest standing member of the church, and was also a member of the United Methodist Women’s Association retired senior volunteer program. She is survived by her cousin Nancy (Wayne) Neudeck of Delevan, N.Y., and her dear friends Henry Lynn and his wife Barb of Westfield, N.Y. Myrtle was predeceased by her sister, Arletta Grinols, who died in 1983. Calling will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5 for one hour prior to the funeral service at 2 p.m., in the Sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield, 101 East Main Street, Westfield with Rev. Matthew Golibersuch officiating. Burial will be held privately in Westfield Cemetery.
