Westfield Electric Billy Begier, Sr. works high up in the air to fix a power outage which occurred when a Maplevale Farms delivery truck struck a utility pole in the parking lot between East Main Street and Clinton Street in Westfield on Tuesday, Jan. 3 around 1:15 p.m., while co-worker Jud Dahl observes from below. The outage was caused when the truck’s collision with the pole knocked two primary phases, or wires, together and blew fuses at the cut out. Westfield Electric’s crew was on the scene quickly and had power restored around 1:45 p.m. Multiple businesses along East Main Street between North Portage Street and Market Street were affected, including the Westfield Republican and Sentinel News office.
