Westfield man charged with selling cocaine

WESTFIELD — A Westfield man has been charged with selling cocaine by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force.

Juan G. Rivera, 27, of 15 Clinton Street in Westfield was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance on Dec. 13 following an arrest warrant for Rivera.

The warrant had been issued by the Village of Westfield Court following information given by the Southern Tier Task Force.

It is alleged that Rivera sold quantities of cocaine to a task force agent in the Village of Westfield. An investigation was conducted over the last several months by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force with assistance from the Westfield Police Department.

As a result of this investigation, more charges are pending and the investigation is continuing.

After his arrest, Rivera was arraigned in the Village of Westfield Court and then committed to the Chautauqua County Jail on $60,000 cash bail. Rivera will return to Village of Westfield Court on a later date for further court action.

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force continues to ask the public to call either the Task Force or their local police whenever they observe any narcotics related activity within their community.
