Wallace R. Seeley

Wallace R. Seeley, 80, of Canton, Texas, formerly of Blockville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, in Athens, Texas.

He was born March 12, 1931, in the Town of Harmony, a son of the late Charles and Marjorie Morey Seeley.

He was a 1951 graduate of Panama Central School.

On Jan. 4, 1951, he was inducted into the U.S. Air Force serving for three years. One of those years he was stationed in North Africa as a radar operator. He was awarded the National Defense Service Metal and Good Conduct Metal following his discharge.

While living in this area he was employed by Automatic Voting Machine and later Agway. In 1978 he moved to Texas where he was a self-employed carpenter.

Surviving are his wife the former Lois Sweet, whom he married Oct. 7, 1951 in Little Valley; a son, Mark Seeley (Mariann); three daughters, Alicia Lamb (Mark), Michelle James (Rex) and Kathy McNabb (Trevor); six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty S. Lord.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Seeley, a grandson, Kenneth Reid, and a great granddaughter, Jessica Roberts.

A private family service will be held. Burial will be in Panama Union Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice or Panama Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 57, Panama, N.Y. 14767.
