Geneva J. Horne, 85, formerly of 125 Church Street, Sherman, N.Y., passed away Dec. 9, 2011, in Fayetteville, Ga., at Doctors Hospice. She was born Aug. 21, 1926, in Clymer, N.Y., the daughter of the late, Louis and Esther Gravink TeWinkle.
Geneva worked for Luke’s grocery store for many years, as a clerk. She loved to read play bingo and playing cards.
She is survived by her sons, Eugene (Jean) Cady of Cambridge Springs, Pa., James (Roxanne) Cady of Panama, N.Y., Randall Cady of Ohio; daughter Virginia Cady of Tyrone, Ga.; six grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and sisters Velma (Jiggs) Damcott of Clymer, N.Y., Emogene Lookenhouse of North East, Pa., Edith Bensink of Bemus Point, N.Y., Ernest (Alice) TeWinkle of Clymer, N.Y., and Raymond TeWinkle of Clymer, N.Y.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Sherman, N.Y., with Pastor Roger Westley, officiating. Burial will be in Sherman Cemetery. Friends were received for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Minerva Free Library, 116 Miller St. Sherman, N.Y. 14781.
