Westfield Republican
WESTFIELD — Kerry L. Anderson, 43, of Mill Street in Stockton was arrested for fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony.

Anderson, of Anderson Painting out of Fredonia allegedly stopped at a residence on Route 20 in the Town of Westfield and talked to an 80-year-old female into having her house painted, at which time Anderson demanded a down payment of $1,500 up front to buy materials which the victim turned over. A few days later, Anderson showed up and demanded $500 more which the victim refused to pay. Anderson never returned to do any of the work on the residence. Anderson never showed any material or did any work.

Sheriff investigators contacted Anderson and told him to return the money. After a number of weeks when the victim had still not received any money from Anderson, a warrant was obtained from the Town of Westfield and he was arrested and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail. Anderson has been arrested and convicted in the past of taking money from the elderly when he was supposed to have done work on their houses.
