Chautauqua Lake students learn about military serviceDecember 14, 2011
MAYVILLE — U.S. Army Sergeant Tracey Curtis, center back, recently spoke to fourth graders at Chautauqua Lake Central School, just one way the district observed Veterans’ Day and service to the nation. Curtis is a U.S. Army Sergeant whose daughter, Madison Kramer, is in the class, taught by Holly Snyder. Curtis spoke about the five branches of military service, discussing their differences and similarities. As a member of the Army National Guard, she brought a pencil, clip, note pad and T-shirt for each student. Two students also won National Guard bags by correctly answering trivia questions.
