CLCS graduate receives University of Pittsburgh honor

PITTSBURGH — Joni Keating, the daughter of Jill and John Keating of Mayville, accepted membership in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars and will be honored during an induction convocation on the University of Pittsburgh campus.

She was named to the dean’s honor list at the university and is carrying a double major in psychology and linguistics at the university’s School of Arts and Sciences. She will spend her summer at the University of Limerick, Ireland.

Keating, a 2010 graduate of Chautauqua Lake School, was an All Western New York Scholar Athlete on the tennis team.

Membership into the society is by invitation only, based on grade-point average and class standing, and is the nation’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first- and second-year college students.
