The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

November 30, 2011
By ELAINE G. COLE, CORRESPONDENT
SHERMAN — Many people enjoyed the great performances of the “Wizard of Oz” presented by the Sherman Central School students three evenings recently. Sally Carr, school music instructor, and Andrew Minton, instrumental instructor, directed the play. They were assisted by many other adults and students. The auditorium was packed every night of the performances.

Danielle Reed gave an outstanding performance as Dorothy as did the entire cast, which consisted of many students of all ages. The stage crew and other students and adults played a bit part in making the production a huge success.

A lot of hours and hard work preceded the performance and everyone did their part working together to make the play one of the best, if not the best, performance ever given at Sherman Central School. Even the students’ parents played a big part by letting their children spend several months in preparation for the play.

Congratulations go to the play directors and everyone else that participated in the wonderful “Wizard of Oz.”
