Winter sports meeting for Chautauqua Lake athletes, parents
All Chautauqua Lake Central School student athletes participating in a modified, junior varsity, or varsity winter sport are strongly urged to attend a sports information meeting, along with their parents, at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1 in the district auditorium. Coaches will review a variety of topics, including season expectations, requirements and other pertinent information. All required athletic forms will be handed out and can be completed at the meeting. The sports information meeting is an opportunity to ask questions and obtain information about the season. Westfield Youth Wrestling sign-ups
Westfield Youth Wrestling will be joining Ripley Youth Wrestling this year. Wrestling sign-ups will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27 and on Tuesday Nov. 1 in the lobby of Westfield School from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Practices will be held in Ripley and Westfield schools. Practice schedules will be ready by sign-up dates. Call Dave Babcock at 326-2290 with any questions.
Baseball umpiring class
The Chautauqua County Baseball Umpires Association will be holding classes from mid-October through mid-December for anyone interested in becoming a high school baseball umpire. These classes are also available for anyone who wants to become a certified umpire for Babe Ruth or Little League Baseball. Classes will be held on Monday evenings for eight weeks.
