October 12, 2011
Westfield Republican
WESTFIELD — The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a serious personal injury accident Tuesday in the town of Westfield.

Deputies were sent to Route 20 near Walker Road at 3:40 p.m. A vehicle operated by Carl Vilardo, 40, of Westfield was driving on Walker Road when it reportedly turned onto Route 20.

A second vehicle, operated by Eric Sanders, 22, of Westfield, swerved in an attempt to avoid collision with Vilardo’s vehicle.

Sanders’ vehicle then swerved into the path of a vehicle operated by Leroy Williams, 75, of Ripley, causing Williams’ vehicle to strike Sanders’ vehicle which came to rest on a lawn.

Sanders and Williams were transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital for their injuries.

Jaclyn Williams, 20, of Westfield, who was a passenger in the vehicle operated by Sanders, was transported by Starflight to Hamot Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the scene and the investigation is continuing at this time.
