What a great way to end the retiree’s golf season. There was a ton of food including salads, deviled eggs, beans, chicken dishes, macaroni and cheese, plus the most delicious steaks cooked perfectly by Sam Arcadipane and Vinny Paternosh. Everyone was in great humor and there was much laughter, especially after the special award was presented to Bob Lokietek. Lokietek had a tendency to “throw” his club when it didn’t function in the manner he wanted, so the league presented him with a special “already bent to go around tree’s etc.” club. There was a lot of speculation concerning who was going to receive this special club; apparently there were more deserving participants. Closest to the pin on no. 4 was Dave Holser and on no. 7 Gene Noble.
First place team with five under par; Dick Furman, Les Yokom, Noble and Lokietek.
Second place with four under par; Holser, Ray Cenni, Mel Allen and John Ellison — this team had five birdies on the first five holes; nicely done.
Third place team with three under par; Arcadipane, Steve Woleben, Paternosh and Todd Swanson.
Fourth place with one under par; Doug Rothwell, Keith Rothwell, Butch Joint and Jeff Greabell,
Fifth place with one under par; Bill Cole, Bill Christ, Bob Kurek and Trenny Jordan.
Sixth place at even par; Jim Higginbotham, Bob Rogers, Jim Quinn and Harry Barton.
Seventh place at four over; Jesse Marino, Al Easton, John Aldredge and John Jones.
