Swimming pool to re-open at CLCS

September 14, 2011
Westfield Republican
MAYVILLE — The swimming pool at Chautauqua Lake Central School is slated to open to the public on Mon. Sept. 12. The pool had been closed for the summer due to construction.

All pool programs must now be pre-paid through the District Office. No payments will be accepted at the pool.

The Family Swim Program for all ages will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 12 to 2 p.m. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, who must stay to supervise them, but need not swim.

The Adult Pool Program for ages 18 and up will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., but with a later start on days of home swimming meets. Aquatic Exercise class will be taught during the first hour of the Adult Pool Program each Tuesday or Thursday. Lap swim will be available for the full time the pool is open each Tuesday or Thursday.

Pre-paid pool cards for each program will be available in the District Office until 7 p.m. on Mon. Sept. 12 and most Mondays throughout the school year. Pre-paid cards will also be available in the District Office until 7 p.m. on Tues. Sept. 13, until 5 p.m. on most work days, or by appointment. Call 753-5802 to check evening hours and availability.

To purchase pre-paid pool cards, complete a registration form, sign the Informed Consent Agreement and deliver the completed form to the District Office with a check or money order payable to CLCS Community Ed. Registration forms and additional information are on the district website, www.clake.org, via the Swimming Pool link is on the left side of the home page. Registration forms are also available in the District Office at the center of the school building.

Groups of 10 or more, including birthday or pool parties, must call ahead so there will be enough life guards on duty and must purchase pre-paid pool cards as usual. The cards are transferable.

American Red Cross Swimming Lessons for students in kindergarten through grade five and Swim and Dive Club for students in grades three and up will be offered during the winter months.

Call the Community Relations Office at 753-5802 with questions. For a recorded pool schedule, call the Swimming Pool Hotline at 753-5919.
