WESTFIELD — Carolyn L. Pilafas, 64, of Westfield and Marcio K. Knappenberger, 17, of Westfield were involve.d in a car versus pedestrian collision on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

According to police, at 3:45 p.m. an officer was dispatched to the collision in from of the McDonald’s restaurant on East Main Street in Westfield. According to witnesses, Knappenberger was allegedly not using a crosswalk to cross the roadway from the Methodist church towards McDonald’s and was struck by a vehicle allegedly operated by Pilafas which was traveling east bound on East Main Street. After further investigation, Knappenberger stated he never saw the vehicle and Pilafas also stated she never saw the young man until the collision occurred. Knappenberger was transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital and later transported to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa. No charges were filed in the incident. A photograph of this collision appeared on the front page of this paper on Sept. 1.

WESTFIELD — Liang L. Shi, 22, of East Main Street in Westfield was charged with trespassing and unlawful possession of marijuana and Joseph A. Johnson, 27, of Washington Street in Westfield was charged with trespassing on Sept. 1.

At 1:30 a.m., police observed Shi and Johnson at a bonfire below the railroad trusses for the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks between North Portage Street and Oak Street in the village. Both were allegedly trespassing on Norfolk Southern Railroad property. Shi was allegedly in possession of marijuana.

WESTFIELD — A homeless man, Martin P. Calvey, 31, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, unlawful possession of marijuana and was arrested on a bench warrant out of the Village of Westfield on Thursday, Sept. 1.

According to police, Calvey was observed by an officer allegedly walking south on Franklin Street in the Village of Westfield at 10:15 a.m. Westfield Police was aware of a current order of protection allegedly involving Calvey and the female subject he was walking with, who is the protected subject. Police stopped both subjects and checked the order of protection and also for outstanding warrants. After the positive check on the order of protection and warrant, Calvey was arrested. He was arraigned in front of the village justice and was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $2,000 cash or $4,000 property bail.

WESTFIELD — Chad A. Fuller, 32, of Union Street in Westfield was charged with three counts of second-degree harassment on Saturday, Sept. 3.

According to police, they responded to a fight in the area of Union Street and Main Street in the Village of Westfield at 2:30 a.m. Fuller allegedly got into an altercation with three other subjects. He then allegedly struck the three other subjects. Fuller was charged and will appear in Westfield Village Court on a later date.
