I recently had the wonderful opportunity to travel with the veterans of the John W. Dill Post from the Brocton American Legion to the 2011 D-Day Conneaut event in Conneaut, Ohio. Nine World War II veterans including my father, Angelo A. Zanghi of Portland, N.Y., attended the event along with other veterans and family members from the Brocton Post. It was a wonderfully organized bus trip and an amazing event to attend. I was able to spend a wonderful history filled day with my 91-year-old father as well as meeting many, many wonderful people throughout the day. It was my great pleasure to attend with my father and the other veterans of The Greatest Generation. I have a new found respect for them and all veterans that served and are currently serving our wonderful country. A very special thank you to Henry Link, thank you for reaching out to my dad at the Portland Post Office. You presented us both with the opportunity of a life time and I thank you greatly. Thank you to the John W. Dill Post in Brocton, N.Y. for a great trip. I hope we can join you again next year.
