Mrs. Betsy Geiger entertained 21 ladies at a farewell luncheon for Mrs. Shirley Gravink on Friday at 12:30. The Gravinks will be moving to Lincoln, New Hampshire the middle of August. The tables were centered with beautiful floral arrangements. Shirley was presented several gifts from those attending. Out of town guests were present from Flint, Michigan, Fredonia and area friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Vern Smith from Newark, N.Y. called on Mrs. Clara Holthouse and Mrs. Gertrude Gravink on Friday evening
Mr. and Mrs. Lehigh Aber, Florida and Miss Helen Baldus from Pittsburgh spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Habink.
Mrs. Mary Ton from Flint Mich. Arrived Wednesday to spend some time with Mrs. William Gravink and other relatives while at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie.
Don’t forget to pay a visit on Bill VanEarden on July 22 on his 95th birthday. There will be an open house from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Seblink. The party is given by nieces ad nephews.
Scouts Jeff Geiger and David White left Monday by plane from Buffalo to attend the National Boy Scout Camp in Cimarron, New Mexico. This 2 weeks will involve many different experiences such as hiking with a 30-pound pack, cave trips and exploring many historic places.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lictus and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Winner visited Las Vegas the past week.
Daily Vacation Bible School will be held at Abbe Church Aug.1 to 5 with an interesting time promised. Hours are 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The Coffee Club celebrated Mrs. Irma Legters birthday on Monday with a picnic dinner at the summer home of Mr. and Mrs. Caryle Neckers.
Phil Gravink from Albany area came Friday and visited his father a patient at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie; Deleo from Albany came on Saturday to spend some time here also.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Ten Haken and daughters enjoyed breakfast at the home of his mother Irma on Sunday morning to start off her birthday celebration.
Mrs. Clara Holthouse enjoyed dinner on Saturday at the Dutch Village Restaurant for her birthday which was Tuesday. Those attending were mars. Bernice McCann, Ms. Ruth Beckerink, Mrs. Luella Cordia, Miss Ruth Beckerink, Mrs. Ruth Gravink of Hartfield, N.Y..
Faith at Work Group met on Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Lucille Bensink. The study book and tape was presented by Mrs. Steve Tempas. There were 14 present.
Mr. and Mrs. Geary Tewinkle from Charleston, S.C. spent a few days here with his parents Mr. and mars. Glen Tewinkle and other relatives from here , they will travel to Tyler, Texas to visit Denise’s parents Mr. and Mrs. R. VanderKoor. On August 23 Geary will have completed the 6 years of service for his country and will be honorably discharged.
The Twentieth Century Club will have a picnic a the Clymer Park on Tuesday, July 26. Bring picnic lunch and beverage will be furnished. In case of rain it will be at the Floyd Cady home.
Mrs. Carol Berbarian Kathy and Mark from Demarest, N.J. spent the week here with Rev. Sellers.
