WESTFIELD — A Westfield youth was sent to jail after a domestic incident.

According to police, on Friday, July 1 at 2:30 p.m., they responded to a residence on Franklin Street in the Village of Westfield for a past tense father-son domestic incident. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who was allegedly assaulted by his 17-year-old son who had punched him in the face during a domestic dispute. It was also alleged that the youth had broken a glass globe that belonged to his parents with a baseball bat for no apparent reason just previous to the domestic. Westfield Policed filed for a warrant for the alleged charges of third degree assault and fourth degree criminal mischief and the 17-year-old Westfield youth turned himself in.

The youth was arraigned on the warrant and was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 cash or $2,000 property bail and is to appear in the Westfield Village Court on a later date.

WESTFIELD — A Cassadaga youth was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and having an open container of alcohol in their vehicle.

According to police, on Sunday, July 3 at 2:15 a.m., officers allegedly observed a vehicle traveling on Prospect Road in the Town of Westfield leave the roadway traveling through a front yard of a residence and then back onto the roadway. Officers stopped the vehicle and after a short investigation, it was allegedly found that the 19-year-old operator from Cassadaga was intoxicated.

The Cassadaga youth was arrested for DWI, unlicensed operator, failure to maintain lane and also having an open container of alcohol in the motor vehicle. They will appear in Westfield Town Court on a later date.

WESTFIELD — A man from East Concord, N.Y., was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation.

According to police, on Sunday, July 3 at 11 p.m., they stopped a vehicle on Route 5 near Gun Club Road in the Town of Westfield for allegedly committing the traffic infraction of failure to maintain lane by driving across the fog line down the shoulder of the roadway for an extended distance. During the stop, it was allegedly found that the operator of the vehicle, Brandon G. Schlemmer, 43, of Pratham Road in East Concord, N.Y., was under the influence of alcohol.

Schlemmer was arrested and charged with felony DWI, first degree AUO, violate restriction and failure to maintain lane. Schlemmer is to appear in Westfield Town Court on a later date.

WESTFIELD — A Lockport man was charged with driving while intoxicated and for having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

According to police, on Monday, July 4 at 4:30 a.m., officers allegedly observed a vehicle traveling on North Portage Street in the Village of Westfield without any tail lights. The vehicle was stopped by officers and upon further investigation, the operator of the vehicle, Michael E. Kessler, 26, of Ridge Road in Lockport, was allegedly found to be intoxicated and to have an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle.

Kessler was taken into custody and later released with uniform traffic tickets for DWI, having less than two tail lights and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Kessler will appear in Westfield Village Court on a later date.
