WESTFIELD — A Wappinger Falls, N.Y., woman was charged with multiple counts of possession.

According to police, on Thursday, June 30 at 11:45 p.m., a vehicle traveling south on South Portage Street in the Village of Westfield was allegedly observed with one headlight out. After stopping the vehicle operated by Mary K. Pottenburgh, 26, of Degarmo Hills Road in Wappinger Falls and performing a vehicle search, officers allegedly located a small quantity of marijuana and a quantity of mushrooms.

Pottenburgh was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and operating a motor vehicle with inadequate headlamps. Pottenburgh will appear in Westfield Village Court on a later date.

WESTFIELD — A Westfield woman was turned over to the sheriff’s office on an arrest warrant.

According to police, on Friday, July 1 at 2:30 a.m., a vehicle operated by Leana Melnick, 30, of Pearl Street in Westfield, was stopped near Crandall Street and Kent Street in the Village of Westfield for allegedly committing a traffic infraction. During the stop, it was allegedly found Melnick had a revoked license, possessed a small quantity of marijuana and had an active arrest warrant out of the Town of Ripley.

Melnick was issued traffic tickets for stop/standing on pavement, inadequate brake lights, third degree aggravated unlicensed operation and an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana. Melnick was then transported to Ripley where she was turned over to the sheriff’s office to answer the warrant. Melnick is to appear in Westfield Village Court on a later date.
