WESTFIELD — A Dunkirk man was arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs.
According to the sheriff’s office, on Friday, June 17 at 9 a.m., deputies responded to an erratic vehicle operation complaint on the Westfield Sherman Road. When they arrived on scene, the vehicle was allegedly stopped on the side of the road and David J. Gizowski, 53, of Doughty Street in Dunkirk was allegedly impaired by drugs.
Gizowski was arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs and later released. He will appear in Westfield Town Court at a later date.
MAYVILLE — A Mayville man was committed to Chautauqua County Jail for criminal possession of a weapon.
According to the sheriff’s office, on Wednesday, June 22 at 8 p.m., deputies were at a residence on Sea Lion Drive in Mayville conducting an investigation into a situation reported by the homeowner. During the investigation, it was found that John R. Ferguson, 33, of Sea Lion Drive in Mayville was allegedly in possession of a loaded firearm.
Due to Ferguson being a convicted felon, he was arrested for fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, arraigned at Chautauqua Court and committed to jail with bail at $2,000 cash or $4,000 property.
SHERMAN — A 15-year-old male youth from Sherman was involved in an ATV accident.
According to the sheriff’s office, on Thursday, June 23 at 2 p.m., the youth was operating an ATV on a trail off of Titus Road in the Town of Sherman when he allegedly lost control after hitting a dip. The youth was ejected from the ATV and struck a tree. He was taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital for back pain. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
HARMONY — A Panama woman was charged with harassment.
According to the sheriff’s office, on Thursday, June 23 at 7 p.m. sheriff’s patrol was called to a residence on Swede Road in the Town of Harmony for a disturbance. Following an investigation, it was alleged that Amber M. Guadalupe, 28, of Swede Road in Panama was involved in an altercation with another female resulting in Guadalupe striking this individual in the face.
Deputies issued Guadalupe an appearance ticket for second degree harassment, was released and will appear in Harmony Town Court next month to answer the charge.
RIPLEY — Two Ripley men collided with each other on dirt bikes and were treated for injuries.
According to the sheriff’s office, on Friday, June 24 at 10 p.m. deputies responded to Greenbush Road in the Town of Ripley for a personal injury accident. Michael W. Perdue, 41, of Greenbush Road in Ripley and Thomas E. Luke, 20, of Route 76 in Ripley were operating dirt bikes on Greenbush Road when they collided with each other. Perdue and Luke were treated for injuries at the scene and transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital by Ripley EMS for treatment.
The investigation is still pending at this time.
