Chautauqua Marina in Mayville announces summer classes, events

Free boat safety tips handouts will be available at all events

• Thursday, June 23 from 7 to 8 p.m. — A free fishing seminar titled “Muskies Chautauqua” about musky fishing on Chautauqua Lake will be presented by Mike Sperry, Chautauqua Reel Outdoors Guide and Tackle Registration. Space is limited to 50 people. Email Boatsafety@aol.com or call the Chautauqua Marina at 753-3913. Fishing seminar for adults and children. All children 15 and under must be with an adult.

• Safe boating one-day classes will be held on Sunday, June 26 and again on July 17 with both classes starting at 9:30 a.m. Classes meet all the requirements for the New York Safe Boating Program. • Safe boating two-day classes will be held on Aug. 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Aug. 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. Class is for ages 10 thru adult. For more information call Debi Clementi at 753-0409. To pre register, email safeboatclass@aol.com or go to www.ChautauquaMarina.com. • National Marina Day celebration with free youth fishing contest and free boat safety checks will take place on Saturday, Aug. 13. The youth fishing contest starts at 10 a.m., is open to children ages 3 to 12 and includes prizes for all kids Boat checks will be conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
