I am writing to congratulate all of the Westfield Academy and Central School students who participated in the All-County Festival at Chautauqua Institute this past weekend. As usual, Westfield was wonderfully represented by the more than 70 students who were selected from our school. We had the largest number of participants than any other district in the county except for Jamestown. Westfield was additionally honored by having three students receive CCMTA scholarships, and I congratulate Lexie Momberger, Emily Parker, and Christopher Cockram for that tremendous accomplishment. Also, three of our music teachers (Kent Knappenberger, Helen Ihasz, and Roger Chagnon III) were the chairpersons for different ensembles, and Pauline Emilson (retired band teacher) directed the finale. The quality of music in our school is amazing and inspirational. I just wanted to publicly say, “Thank you” for everything that our music program is and does in this community.
