DEWITTVILLE - The Chautauqua Lake, New York KOA, the newest jewel in the 475-park Kampgrounds of America system in North America, will be hosting a grand opening celebration Saturday, May 14 at the campground at 5652 Thumb Road in Dewittville.
The grand opening event will be part of KOA’s annual Come Kamp & Care With Us Weekend event that includes Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14. Campers staying at the campground as paying guests on Friday, May 13 are invited to stay at the campground for free on Saturday, May 14. The annual event also serves as a fundraising event for KOA Care Camps for children with cancer. The network of 44 camps in North America provide a unique summer camping experience for children suffering from cancer. The Come Kamp & Care With Us Weekend helps raise donated funds to support the Care Camps.
On Saturday, May 14, Chautauqua Lake KOA owners Bill and Anita Perry will host coffee and donuts in the morning, as well as a pot luck dinner, raffle and silent auction to raise funds for KOA Care Camps. There will also be games for the children in the afternoon, as well as a formal ribbon cutting ceremony for the campground.
