Domestic disturbance sends Westfield man to county jail

WESTFIELD – A Westfield resident is in the Chautauqua County Jail and facing numerous charges after he was arrested following an alleged domestic incident.
Antonio Figueroa, 37, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal obstruction of breathing and blood circulation and second-degree harassment on Sunday, April 10.
According to a release from the Westfield Police Department, police officers responded to a Nichols Avenue residence in the Town of Westfield for an alleged domestic incident in progress. Upon arrival, the release said, officers spoke with a female victim who had allegedly had a physical altercation with Figueroa.
Figueroa, according to the police report, allegedly grabbed the female by her neck and slammed her into a stove. He also allegedly damaged multiple cupboards in the residence with his fist.
These actions, the police report said, allegedly took place in the presence of a young child, which led the endangering the welfare of a child charge.
Figueroa was arraigned in the Town of Westfield Court and bail was set at $2,000 cash and $5,000 property. He was remanded to the county jail.
