Westfield YWCA thanks community for support
April 1, 2011
The YWCA Westfield Staff and the Board of Directors wish to thank the Westfield Community for their support of our annual Spaghetti Dinner, auction and 50/50 drawing. Over 60 gift certificates and theme baskets were available for auction and the 50/50 raffle tickets were sold throughout the evening.
“Winners who weren’t present are being notified and we are continuing to tabulate the proceeds,” said child services director Brenda Backus, “but we do know this year was a huge success. A record amount of money was raised to be used to offset costs associated with youth programming, including scholarships for the summer field trips. Special thanks goes to Evelyn Quagliana and Renee Kawski from Triana Catering who add their touch to our sauce and meatballs, the other merchants who supplied dinner items, the businesses who donated chinese auction prizes and all the volunteers who helped with the serving and clean up.”
YWCA Westfield is a United Way agency and a member of the National YWCA with a focus on the mission of ‘eliminating racism and empowering women.
