WACS middle school musical was fantastic

Dear Editor,

On Feb. 11 I attended the Westfield Middle School Musical, “The Wizard of Oz.” The students, all around 12 or 13 years old, did a fantastic job! They have been practicing since the end of November and it was evident in their performances.

All cast members from the leads to the Munchkins had stage presence and were obviously enjoying performing. As a result, the audience enjoyed the musical. The cast received a standing ovation at the final curtain.

Of course there are always unseen people who contribute to any show’s success. There were many of those and they are to be commended. I do want to commend one person in particular, the director, Mr. Doug Tramontana. All of his many hours for rehearsals, etc. was volunteer time. Not only did he do an outstanding job as a director, eliciting awesome performances from his cast, but he did it purely for the love of music and kids!

I am proud of all the students who I saw that night and also proud that Mr. Tramontana is my colleague!
