WESTFIELD - A $400 gift from members of the Westfield Academy Central School Key Club was accepted by the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation Director of Development Patricia A. DiPalma to benefit the 2010 WMHF Annual Campaign.
“The WMH Foundation is grateful to our young donors who realize the importance of philantrophy and giving back to one’s community,” DiPalma said. “The gift, given with no restrictions, will be used to enhance the foundation’s mission to work with the hospital to provide financial support for the delivery of high quality health care to the residents of the Chautauqua Region.”
Key Club provides high school students with the opportunity to serve others. In doing so, they expand their personal horizons beyond their immediate peer group to a larger community be it their school, their neighborhood, their community or even their nation.
By participating in service projects through Key Club, high schoolers learn the joy of helping others, the benefits of teamwork and the satisfaction of personal achievement.
“By giving to the WMH Foundation,” DiPalma said, “our students realize the importance of keeping our community hospital (one of Westfield’s greatest treasures) viable now and well into the future.”
