WESTFIELD - Our company had its beginnings with the first organized co-op meeting of eight local farmers in 1929.  These farmers knew the excellent potential the rich soil and moderate Lake Erie climate held for grape production.  For over 80 years since then, our Co-op has been growing and producing only the finest Concord grape juice and concentrate available.

We are located in the heart of what is known as the “Concord Grape Belt,” a fifty mile long strip of land along Lake Erie which varies in width from two to six miles, where the climate is ideal for producing Concord grapes.   Growers’ primary business is the manufacture of high quality Concord grape concentrate for the wholesale bulk juice market.

All of our 100% Concord concentrate is made from 100% pure Concord grapes grown by our Co-op members.  The grapes are nurtured throughout the year and picked at the peak of their maturity, usually in late September or October.

Growers’ also possesses the modern equipment and expertise to process other fruit into high quality juice and concentrate. During summer months people will find our facility bustling with activity processing tart cherries and blueberries.  Contract fruit and juice processing is a strategic priority for Growers because it helps us to fully utilize our equipment year round instead of just at grape harvest season.  Growers’ has to compete in an ever changing and volatile worldwide food supply chain.  Our resourceful local work force, relatively low municipal electricity costs, and abundant municipal water and wastewater capacity helps keep our business competitive.

Concord grapes are our heritage and our passion.  We are a major supporter of the Concord Grape Belt Heritage Association.   This group was formed to promote our unique region and tell our 150 year old story of growing grapes.  Today’s mass merchandised retail 100% grape juice products are no longer 100% Concord grape.  At Growers, we have an ongoing initiative to preserve the identity of the Eastern Concord grape and have developed a product that is all Concord.  Our concentrate, grape seed oil and ready to drink bottles are available at the Westfield Farmer’s Market, other local natural food stores and on our website at
