WESTFIELD - The Westfield Quilters' Guild recently completed and gave away 105 homemade quilts to area organizations and groups who will share them with persons in need.  Since the guild began in 1993, one of its goal is for members to share their time and talents with others. These colorful quilts will be used in the Brooks Memorial Hospital Dialysis Unit, Westfield Memorial Hospital Infusion Ward, Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk, TEAM Program at the Jamestown YWCA, Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, Chautauqua County Rural Ministries in Dunkirk, YWCA Pre-School Program in Westfield, Salvation Army Womens' Shelter in Jamestown, the WCA Home in Fredonia, and the Chautauqua County Child Advocacy Program.

Throughout the year women meet together in small groups or work individually to make these quilts.  Each quilt is given with the hope that it will bring comfort to an individual who is experiencing difficulties.

The guild meets the 3rd Thursday of the month (except Dec.) at 7:00 p.m. at the Westfield United Methodist Church and welcomes anyone interested in learning more about quilting.
