WESTFIELD - Harriett M. (VanDyke) Fauler, age 97, of  Spring Street, Westfield died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Absolut Care of Westfield.





 Mrs. Fauler was born on March 31, 1912 in Philadelphia, PA,  the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Donahue) Van Dyke.





 Harriett graduated from St. Margaret’s in Philadelphia, PA where she studied Business and Business Law. She continued her education at Temple University.  She and her late husband, Edward, moved to Westfield in 1952 after residing in, Damascus, Syria, then Lyndonville, NY and Beaver Falls, NY.  Harriett had been an Executive Administrative Assistant at Welch Foods in Westfield, where she retired from in 1979.  She was a member of St. Dominic Roman Catholic Parish, The YWCA of Westfield and the Welch Retiree’s Assoc.  Harriett was an avid gardener who greatly enjoyed studying the stock market.





 She is survived by two daughters: Mary Ann Fauler  and Kathleen L. Freeman both of Columbia, TN, her two grandchildren; Stephen Scott (Lisa) Fauler of Old Hickory, TN, and Lynne Kathleen (John) Seaburg of Rindge, NH, and her three great grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan and Jake Seaburg all of Rindge, NH. In addition Harriett is survived by several nieces and nephews.





 She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Fauler, her brother, Albert Van Dyke, and her three sisters; Mary Salmon Frances VanDyke and Merle D’Alessandro.





 No calling hours will be observed.  Funeral services will be private with burial in St. James Cemetery.
