When Stacy Cochran first started selling Avon products, it was a way for her to make a little extra cash while she stayed at home with her child.
She then took a little time off.
“I got started because I wanted to make extra money to be able to stay home with my kids,” Mrs. Cochran said. “I did it for two years before I had my son, then started again.”
Now, she’s back at it and, she said, “really enjoying it.”
“I like that I get to interact with the public,” Mrs. Cochran said, “and help them with their beauty needs in choosing the right products for them.”
According to the company’s Web site, www.avoncompany.com, Avon has been selling beauty-related brands for more than a century and has become the world leader in lipsticks, fragrances and anti-aging skin-care. Interested individuals may also sell products, like Mrs. Cochran, to family and friends.
“Since 1886, Avon has been building bonds with women, offering them a dynamic earnings opportunity to achieve economic independence, accomplish their financial goals and transform their lives,” the Web site said.
However, Mrs. Cochran said the economy has had some impact on her sales.
“I have noticed that my orders have slowed down a lot,” she said. “I’m hoping to find some new clients to get my sales where they were a couple of years ago.”
Still, Mrs. Cochran said she is enjoying her time spent selling Avon.
“I am doing this 100 percent for my family,” she said. “Anything extra I can bring in helps tremendously. I really enjoy selling Avon and it helps that the products are great.”
Avon offers a variety of health and beauty-related items, including make-up, skincare items and fragrances. Mrs. Cochran can be reached by calling 326-7471 or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. She is also able to take orders by phone or e-mail.
