Car Dealership Holding Roswell Park Fundraiser

The Basil Family of Dealerships will clear their lots twice this fall as they host two evenings of fun and entertainment to benefit the Stacey Scott Lung Cancer Registry at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.


The annual “Evening on the Lot” event will be held on Sept. 19 at Robert Basil Chevrolet in Fredonia and Sept. 26 at the Basil Resale Center in Williamsville.


Established in 2008, “Evening on the Lot” is as a fun, family-friendly event that has raised more than $21,000 for the Stacey Scott Lung Cancer Registry. Admission to either evening is $10 and includes food, drink and live entertainment. Both events will be held from 7-10 pm. Each “Evening on the Lot” will also feature raffles and auctions for more than 100 great prizes. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling 679-1535 for the Fredonia event or 631-0400 for the Williamsville event.


The Stacey Scott Lung Cancer Registry, located at Roswell Park, is a collaboration of 11 leading medical and research institutions from America, Canada and the Netherlands. The registry is the first common registry (collection) of biological samples and data on patients considered at high risk for lung cancer. The registry is named for Stacey Scott, a previously healthy, non-smoking 38-year-old who succumbed to lung cancer after a four-month battle in 2005.


Data collected for the registry will permit physicians and scientists to conduct research leading to important breakthroughs in early detection and treatment for lung cancer patients around the world. For more information on the registry, please visit www.StaceyRegistry.org.
