Heritage Ministries Announces New Staff Members

Heritage Ministries has added Jenny Irvine, director of nursing, and Melissa Milks, assistant director of nursing. As the director of nursing, Ms. Irvine will oversee the entire nursing operation at Heritage Green. In her capacity as assistant director of nursing, Ms. Milks will provide a supportive nursing and supervisory role to Ms. Irvine. Ms. Irvine is an experienced registered nurse having worked primarily in long-term care. In addition to her current role as director of nursing, some of the various positions she has held are nurses aide, supervisor, unit manager, in-service coordinator, restorative nurse coordinator, nurse educator, and assistant director of nursing. She also has experience working in an acute care setting in cardiology with emphasis on telemetry. Ms. Irvine received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from Villa Maria College (Erie, Pa.) and an Associates Degree in Nursing from Jamestown Community College. “Jenny brings a great deal of enthusiasm, commitment, and experience to the nursing department at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing,’’ said Monica Choperena, Heritage Green administrative director states. ‘‘We are thrilled to have Jenny as a part of our management team and we will all draw from her enthusiasm and passion.” Ms. Irvine is thrilled she was chosen to oversee the entire nursing operation at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. “I am excited for the opportunity to utilize my long-term care experience and skills in meeting the many challenges long-term care facilities offer,’’ she said. ‘‘I look forward to enhancing the home-like atmosphere Heritage Green provides to their residents, family and staff.” Ms. Irvine lives in Jamestown with two of her four children. In her spare time, when she is not working, she enjoys traveling, doing massages, and enjoying her children and grandchildren. Ms. Milks is a Registered Nurse having worked with children with special needs in home health care. Ms. Milks originally joined Heritage Ministries in 1996 and has held a variety of different nursing positions. Ms. Milks received her Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Jamestown Community College. “We look forward to working with Melissa in an assistant director of Nursing role,’’ Ms. Choperena said. ‘‘She is full of enthusiasm, and brings a great passion for providing care to individuals in need of skilled nursing care. As a long time employee, she is very familiar with our skilled nursing facility and is an excellent addition to our management team.” Ms. Milks said, “I have found Heritage Ministries to be a challenging and very rewarding opportunity for spiritual, professional and personal growth.” Ms. Milks lives in Sinclairville with a family of rescued animals. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her three daughters and four grandchildren. Her interests also include making cards, scrapbooking, knitting, quilting, and working in her garden.
