Quality Markets supports Special Olympics participant

June 11, 2009

Quality Markets at the D&F Plaza in Dunkirk and Special Olympics make it possible for TJ McDonnell to attend the summer and fall games in New York state. TJ McDonnell, son of Tom and Charlotte McDonnell of Brocton, has been able to compete in the events due to his Quality Markets manager, Scott Oberg. Oberg works TJ’s schedule so he can attend all his practices and the big games that follow. Every Monday, Oberg sees to it that TJ has the day off or is scheduled for the early shift so he can attend swimming practice at JCC Jamestown Campus. This year, the summer games are being held June 12-14 in Binghamton. Upon their completion, TJ will begin softball practice every Thursday in Jamestown to the middle of October, with the fall games held in Seneca Falls. TJ, who is a left-handed pitcher, has brought home several gold medals in the past. As a Western New York champion, TJ has participated in many sports for Special Olympics and has been awarded many medals. He was also chosen as Athlete of the Year for Area 24 and for the distinguished Katie Campbell Award. TJ is very proud of working for Quality Markets and participating in the Special Olympics.
