May 31, 2009
Westfield Republican
Donald L. Bloomquist Jr., president of Bloomquist’s Landscaping Inc. in Jamestown, recently earned certification as a National Concrete Masonry Association segmental retaining wall installer. Also receiving certification were 18-year employee Scott Cole and five-year employee Bradley Anderson. The certification program provides independent verification of a segmental retaining wall installer’s knowledge of the fundamental installation principles and practices. The CSRWI credential is awarded to individuals who pass the CSRWI certification exam, thereby demonstrating their knowledge of industry accepted principles and guidelines. “Receiving this certificate is a testament to the committment of these employees,’’ Bloomquist said. “I’m proud of the additional effort these gentlemen have put forth.” Bloomquist, along with his wife Beth and son Ben, is a lifelong resident of Jamestown. He graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor of science degree in floriculture and ornamental horticulture. Bloomquist’s Landscaping Inc. founded in 1980 offers services from professional landscape design to both commercial and residential landscape management.
