City Native Earns Award For Work

May 31, 2009

A Jamestown native has been recognized for her innovation and creativity by the Pittsburgh Technology Council and the Greater Pittsburgh Chief Information Officers Group. Suzanne Lindahl, a CIO at Atlas Energy Resources in Uniontown, Ohio, was named chief information officer of the year in the Pittsburgh region at a recent banquet. Responsible for creating and implementing information technology strategy while also leading the day-to-day operations of the 17-employee information technology group, Lindahl spearheaded a project that saved Atlas substantial operating costs in 2008. The information technology group, led by Lindahl, worked with all of Atlas’s other business units to develop a GIS tool to map acreage of existing wells and pipelines, which helped in the planning and tracking of existing well locations. The software saved Atlas substantial operating costs, allowing it to reduce its development costs and define areas of concentration for drilling efforts. The GIS software shaved weeks of work off of this process as it allows management to make better decisions for future drilling sites. Lindahl, a 1982 Jamestown High School and 1986 Mount Union College graduate, is the daughter of Marie Lindahl of Jamestown and the late David Lindahl. She lives in Uniontown.
