The Body Shop Fitness Center opens in Fredonia
May 20, 2009
The Body Shop Fitness Center opened on May 18, at 45 East Main St. in the village of Fredonia. Featuring classes twice a day and a circuit designed for maximum efficiency with a minimum time commitment, The Body Shop is here to help people meet their health goals. Targeted, half-hour classes every day at 12:15 p.m. allow office workers an opportunity for gentle stretching and de-stressing before heading back to work. Late afternoon classes from 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. provide a chance to leave the workday behind, allowing people to go home to their families refreshed and renewed. The Body Shop will also be hosting evening classes in Belly Dance, Hooping, Yoga, and T’ai Chi. These classes are open to members and non-members, and feature low tuition costs to encourage participation. Beginner Belly Dance classes, taught by Jennie Kaleta, an experienced teacher and performer, will increase core flexibility, strengthen abdominals, increase muscle tone and are an enjoyable way to add movement opportunities to a daily routine. Classes begin on Monday, June 1 and will meet every Monday in June from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuition is $40 for five weeks of instruction. Advanced classes will follow as skills and abilities increase. The Body Shop accepts FitBlue, FlexFit, Univera’s Active Anytime and other health insurance programs. Stop in and meet Trish Kleinfelder, owner and trainer, and ask about her philosophy on better health through reasonable time commitments and better choices. A Grand Opening celebration will be held Saturday, May 23 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. As a Grand Opening special, the first 100 members will receive three months for $99.
