FORESTVILLE — Burning Asphalt Sauces, based in Forestville, has opened its first distribution center servicing the West and Southwest United States. Located in Phoenix, Ariz., the new distribution operation will be headed by Mark Wise, a former Western New York resident. “With the opening of our new distribution operations in Arizona, we are showing our commitment to building our Western New York brand nationwide,” said Jeffrey Furash, company president and chief executive officer. “Even though our West Coast distribution is small at this time, we have prepared ourselves for rapid growth in the area. Our new distribution operation also enables us to better serve our current West Coast accounts.” The Arizona expansion is part of phase two in the company’s growth plan for building a national household specialty brand. Many initiatives have been taken in the past year to further strengthen the efficiency and operations of the company in this unpredictable economy. Several new products have been added in a variety of food categories in order to diversify and capture a larger share of the specialty food market. The announcement of the new Arizona distribution operations came at a ceremony honoring U.S. troops just outside of Tuscon. “Sauces for Soldiers,” founded by Furash and Marilyn Sticek, hosted the ceremony. “It is always an honor and privilege to thank our troops in any way we can for the dedication they have to protecting our freedom,” Furash said. ‘‘This non-profit program started in 2003 and provides overseas troops sauces, rubs, and snacks produced by Burning Asphalt Sauces. There is never a charge to our soldiers. Part of the profits of each item that Burning Asphalt Sauces sells and distributes goes directly to help support “Sauces For Soldiers.” Burning Asphalt Sauces produces and distributes a variety of specialty foods from barbecue sauces to a full line of Italian sauces. The company also offers rubs, seasonings and snacks. Its most recent product launches include their Bloody Mary mix and hourmet ketchups. It also offers custom and private label services. Non-profit organizations, businesses and individuals can have their message on a bottle as a fundraising item, promotional item or gift For more information, visit www.BurningAsphalt.com or www.SaucesForSoldiers.com.
