Brooks Memorial Hospital celebrates National Hospital Week
May 14, 2009
Miracles happen every day at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk. In honor of the health care workers who are dedicated to making those miracles a possibility, Brooks is celebrating National Hospital Week May 10-16. Brooks Memorial Hospital will be recognizing and thanking the entire hospital staff for their dedication and professionalism with a week full of gifts and events. This year’s theme for Hospital Week is “A Healthy Commitment in Changing Times,” a phrase organizers believe provides a positive view of the future. National Hospital Week has been celebrated since 1921 and has grown into the nation’s largest healthcare event. “Healthcare has a personal and very powerful role in the lives of every member of the communities we serve,’” said Sallie Piazza, Interim VP for Nursing at Brooks Memorial Hospital. “National Hospital Week gives us an opportunity to recognize the contributions of our healthcare workers and celebrate the great things happening in health care today. The people who meet the daily health care needs of this nation are a committed, compassionate group of individuals united by their calling to help others. Health care is changing to meet new challenges, but our commitment is an enduring source of pride and confidence.” Brooks Memorial Hospital is an affiliate of the Lake Erie Regional Health System of NY.
