WESTFIELD – Westfield Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that enhanced nuclear services such as renal scans, liver/spleen scans, limited thyroid scans, HIDA scans, one scans and whole body scans are now available. Nuclear scans can help doctors in the diagnosis of many diseases and medical conditions. Not only can it help in the diagnosis, but it shows the anatomy of an organ or body part as well as the organ function. Nuclear imaging procedures often identify abnormalities very early in the progress of the disease. This usually means better outcomes for the patient. Nuclear scans are available by appointment on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. As the demand increases our hours will expand. Ask your doctor today if you can schedule your scan at Westfield Memorial Hospital. Westfield Memorial Hospital also continues to provide nuclear stress testing. This is similar to the exercise stress test but it provides more information by using images to show the blood flow to the heart muscle. The test can also give doctors information about the size of the heart’s chambers, and if the heart has any damaged muscles. The highly skilled team of physicians and nurses at Westfield Memorial Hospital is dedicated to personalized, compassionate and quality care for our patients. As a member of the Regional Heart Network and an affiliate of Saint Vincent Health System, WMH provides a direct link to the Saint Vincent Heart Center for patients in Chautauqua County. These connections provide direct access to the cardiologists and cardiac surgeons at Saint Vincent who have performed more life-saving procedures than any other team in the region. Westfield Memorial Hospital provides a friendly, caring staff and a comfortable environment and are continually striving to meet the needs of our community. For questions regarding the nuclear stress test, call 793-2218. For questions regarding all other nuclear scanning, call 793-2234.
