Former Westfield resident Mike Cochrane of Worland, Wyoming has been accepted to Casper College in Casper, Wyoming. Mike will pursue a degree in Diesel Power and Business Administration. Mike is the son of Doug and Alisa Cochrane of Worland. Mike attended Worland High School and graduated with his GED from Northwest College-Worland Campus in December 2007.

While in high school, Mike participated in football, wrestling, 4-H, and FFA. Mike served as the Treasurer of the Chief Washakie FFA Chapter in 2006-2007 and won the State of Wyoming FFA Grand Champion Dairy Showman for Dairy Cattle in 2006. Mike was also a NILE Merit Heifer Winner in 2007 for Wyoming showing his heifer, Lady Luck, at the 2007 NILE in Billings, Montana. While residing in Westfield during grade school, he also showed dairy cattle at the Chautauqua County Fair following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. Mike is currently employed by Winchester Well Service as a derrick hand in the oilfield. He also owns Cochrane Cattle Company with his father in Worland. Once Mike completes his degree, he plans on capitalizing on Wyoming’s oil boom by opening his own business repair company that repairs diesel and propane generators in the oil industry. Mike is the grandson of Jim and Dottie Cochrane of Ripley and Guy and Gerri Orton of North East, Pa.
