3 injured in 3-vehicle crash on upstate NY road

HOOSICK, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say three people have been injured in a three-vehicle crash that has closed a stretch of an eastern New York road.

The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office tells local media outlets that the crash happened around 7 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Routes 7 and 22 in the town of Hoosick, on the Vermont border 30 miles northeast of Albany.

Deputies say a car, a tractor-trailer and a van were involved. One person is in critical condition after being airlifted to Albany Medical Center Hospital. Two other people were also taken to a hospital in ambulances.

Details of the how the crash happened haven't been released.

The section of Route 7 closed by the accident is expected to reopen early Thursday afternoon.
