NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police say an officer who was shot in the leg is in stable condition and a suspect is in custody.
Police say the officer was shot at least once Wednesday afternoon in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn.
It wasn't immediately clear what the officer was doing when the he was shot. His name and age weren't released.
Police say he was transported to Kings County Hospital where he's listed in stable condition.
They say the suspect who shot him is in custody and the gun was recovered.
