NEW YORK (AP) — Former New York Gov. David Paterson has taken on a new post with a job-recruiting company that aims to be a network in more ways than one.
Paterson will be the "chief jobs officer" for the Job Channel Network. Parent company Jasper Group Holdings Inc. announced Paterson's new role Monday.
Job Channel Network sets out to create video and audio pieces presenting companies to prospective employees and then to match the firms with new hires.
Paterson says in a statement that he's seen from both public and private life that people from all backgrounds share the need for a job.
Paterson became governor after Eliot Spitzer's 2008 resignation and served until 2010.
Paterson's spokesman and Job Channel CEO Michael Woloshin didn't immediately respond to an inquiry about his new position.
