BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) — A 25-year-old upstate New York woman has been sentenced to 3 to 9 years in prison for causing the 2011 crash that killed three people riding in her car.
Jacklyn Wesley of Binghamton was convicted in September on three counts of vehicular manslaughter, as well as driving while intoxicated. She was sentenced Wednesday in Broome County Court.
Police said Wesley was drunk behind the wheel of her sport utility vehicle in May 2011 when she crashed on Interstate 88 in the town of Fenton, outside Binghamton. The SUV plunged into the Chenango River, killing two men and a woman riding with her. All the victims were from the Binghamton area.
