LA GRANGE, Texas (AP) — A man suspected of killing his wife and their two young daughters in New York City has waived extradition from Texas.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says 28-year-old Miguel Mejia-Ramos waived extradition Tuesday. Lt. David Beyer (BY'-er) says Mejia-Ramos faces at least one murder count. Further details on charges weren't immediately available.

The suspect was captured early Tuesday after law officers tracked his cellphone as he drove on Interstate 10 near Schulenburg (SHOO'-lun-berg), about 85 miles west of Houston. Investigators surrounded the man's vehicle.

Police have said Mejia-Ramos is a suspect in the stabbings of 1-year-old Yaslin Mejia, 2-year-old Daniela Mejia and their mother, 21-year-old Deisy Garcia. The bodies were discovered Sunday night in their Queens apartment.
