PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. (AP) — The Press of Atlantic City has tapped a veteran newspaper executive to be its top editor.
Publisher Mark Blum announced Friday that Kris Worrell will start Jan. 27 as the newspaper's executive editor (http://bit.ly/1ctpz2l).
Worrell has been serving as regional editor for 13 newspapers in New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia that are owned by Gatehouse Newspapers and was based at the Utica Observer-Dispatch in upstate New York for the past three years. Before taking that job, she worked for several newspapers across the country, holding various newsroom and management posts.
Worrell replaces interim Executive Editor Peter Brophy, who has served in that post since Berkshire Hathaway Media acquired the newspaper in August. Brophy will remain with the newspaper as its lead content producer.
