NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police have charged two teens in an attempted screwdriver attack on a subway rider.

Police say the two punched a 45-year-old victim in the face and then attempted to stab him with the screwdriver before fleeing.

It happened at the East 170th Street/Grand Concourse station in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Police charged 16-year-old Malik Cruz and 17-year-old Jay Nelson with assault and menacing.

It wasn't immediately clear if they had lawyers.
