GREECE, N.Y. (AP) — The continuing investigation into a deadly 1978 fire at an upstate New York Holiday Inn has led to the search of a fire hall in the same town.
The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle (http://on.rocne.ws/1bGd2Xh ) reports that investigators spent part of Thursday at the Ridge Road Fire District headquarters in Greece, but wouldn't say what they were looking for.
Greece Police Capt. Patrick Phelan says the search warrant was the result of information developed over the past two years.
The Nov. 26, 1978 arson fire killed 10 people and injured 34. Investigators say flammable liquid was set ablaze in a storage area filled with paper goods.
The case has remained open as a homicide investigation.
