NEW YORK (AP) — The 25-mile Staten Island bike tour is next weekend.
The third annual event is scheduled for Saturday, with registration between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. in Tompkinsville Park.
The bike tour is sponsored by Transportation Alternatives.
Event coordinator Ben McRoberts tells the Staten Island Advance (http://bit.ly/1fW4pvL ) the aim of the tour is to show people how easy it is to get around Staten Island on a bike.
A maximum of 1,000 riders can participate.
They will be given a sheet marking the route, which will be marked with painted arrows and an "official rider bib."
Participants can bike at their own pace.
