WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a former New York basketball coach has been accused of committing sex acts against three grade-school girls.

The Westchester County district attorney's office says Richard Dinizo of Cortlandt Manor was arraigned Wednesday on three counts of predatory sexual assault of a child.

Prosecutors say the incidents occurred between 2008 and 2010, when the victims were in the second and third grades. Dinizo had coached at various schools and leagues but investigators said he had not coached the girls involved.

Dinizo is accused of having the children cover their eyes, then engaging in oral sex.

He faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison on each count.

His lawyer, Joseph Abinanti, would not comment but said Dinizo also faces related federal charges.
